We had many Rails Girls workshops around Poland. The most known are in Warsaw, Poznan, and of course in Silesia ;). A few months ago, for the first time, I was a mentor on Rails Girls Bielsko-Biała. This was also the first time when workshops in Bielsko-Biała take a place. Let me show you a short report from these workshops.
There it is! The Rails Girls Warsaw 2019 edition! Rails Girls workshops in Warsaw are one of my favorites in Poland. They are always close to my heart. First time I was a mentor at Rails Girls Warsaw in 2014. Now I go around Poland to share my programming knowledge. This time in Warsaw.
Since 2013, when I found the Rails Girls event in Poznań, I have always supported this initiative. In this year I was already on Rails Girls Warsaw, Rails Girls Łódź and Rails Girls Poznań as a mentor. Now it’s time for Rails Girls Cieszyn!
I’m really a Rails Girls freak! After a weekend with Rails Girls Warsaw, I went to the next workshops. This time, I was in Łódź on the third edition of Rails Girls Łódź. I loved the atmosphere of this workshop. It is always a pleasure for me to share my knowledge and to see that other women want to try new things.
It is time to start the new Rails Girls season! My first Rails Girls event, this year, was in Warsaw. Warsaw is a very special place for me. Here I was a mentor for a first time. Here I fell in love with Rails Girls even more. It was in 2014. At that time, I was very nervous to be a mentor. After workshops I wrote down all my thoughts about that. In last Saturday I was on “Global Day of Coderetreat” in Krakow. Coderetreat is one day in year when programmers focus not on delivery new functionality but focus on good code quality. I think this is very important to stop for a moment and think how to be better programmer. And Coderetreat is that moment.
Ones a week I’m teaching others at CoderDojo workshops. CoderDojo is a place for young people (not only young by age but also young by mind) which like to learn Computer Science. When I say Computer Science I mean: programming, game and website creation, graphic design, 3D printing, animations, video creation, robots and many many more. Only yours imagination can limit your skills connected to Computer. On this classes is only one rule: Just be cool! CoderDojo is places where everyone feel good and can learn new things.
This time I won’t be writing about technical things. This time I’d like to share with you something very special for me. Something that brings me lot of joy and happiness. Last weekend I’ve spent as a mentor on Rails Girls in Szczecin. It was my third time. I always have great memories with this place. People are so nice and helpful. The workshop was prepared perfectly. The atmosphere was so positive. If you like to be a part of Rails Girls workshop I truly recommend Szczecin. It’s a great place to start your programming adventure.
It took me a long way from being a participant in Rails Girls workshops, through being a mentor and right now organizing Rails Girls in Gliwice. I’m very proud of our team. It was hard work and lot of engagement. And now my dream came true! Let’s start this story from the beginning…

Couple months ago was participate in Rails Girls Poznan. It was great experience for my. And now I had big challenge. I was coach in Rails Girls Warsaw. I was so nervous. I couldn’t say anything snuffly. I was afraid that girl don’t understand what I want to say then. But then I had wonderful team. Ewa, Magda and Patrycja are very smart, beautiful and motivated women…
Firstly, what is Rails Girls? These are workshops for girls. They learn how write code in Ruby on Rails. During this two-days event they prepare environment and create first application in Rails. They work with coach in small groups. Secondly, what was Rails Girls for me? It was an amazing adventure. I have learned many things. I met so many people and also had lot of fun. Coding is not a boring thing. It is a pleasure, when you do this with right people, on the right time…
