4Developers Wroclaw - 2019

4Developers Wroclaw - 2019

In 2019 I had an opportunity to be a speaker and participant on three local 4Developers events. In Krakow and in Katowice I was presenting my two speeches. I wrote about them an article Speaker at 4Developers 2019. One of my presentations you can watch on YouTube: Are you an Egoistic Programmer? - Step by step refactoring [PL]. The last event was in Wroclaw. This time I was a participant. It was a nice feeling to be there only as a participant. I could focus on conference its self without stressing out. How in few words I can describe 4Developers...

Local editions of 4Developers 2019

Local editions of 4Developers 2019

In one of my last articles I have written about my new challenge. To be a speaker at a conference. This happened two times at local editions of 4Developers in Krakow and in Katowice. It was for me interesting experience, especially that this audience doesn’t know Ruby as programming language too well. I had a chance to share my knowledge about Ruby and good programming practices with them. In the near future there are going to be two more local editions of 4Developers. And because of that I have a surprise for you which is prepared together with 4Developers organizers....

4Developers 2019

4Developers 2019

Normally I’m quite active in Rails Girls community. I’m a mentor and an organizer, and also a speaker at Rails Girls workshops. In this year is a little bit different. I spend less time supporting Rails Girls events, but I challenged myself in a different way. I started sending my proposals to the conferences. I wanted to be a speaker at more than just local community groups or Rails Girls events.

Wroclove.rb 2019

Wroclove.rb 2019

In my opinion, conferences are one of the most awesome ways to get to know programming community. You can meet new people or someone you already know, discovers something new or just get more knowledge about some topics. Even if you cannot be a part of the conference, I really recommend you to check out the videos after conferences. However, there will be one missing part - a community factor. I felt like that, when I was starting my programming adventure. As if I was alone. Conferences, workshops and hackathons gave me that feeling of being a part of something...

Wroclove.rb 2018 - Quick overview

Last time when I was a participant in Wroclove.rb it was, I think, 2-3 years ago. Back then, I was sad about topics of this conference. Almost every presentation was telling us that Rails and Ruby are dead. But no one had any solution for this problem. I know that, this was an alert for us to wake up and take care of our community and framework, but still, it was sad to hear that. This year was completely different. People came with some ideas of what we can do with our code’s architecture. And what we can improve with...

Web Summit Lisbon 2016

It took me some time from last post. So many things happened: events, workshops, travel. But I’m back! Today I would like to share my thoughts about Web Summit. This is big conference (exhibition for startups). I was on this conference once in Dublin and now in Lisbon. I decided to come because as a Woman in Tech I got free ticket. Maybe because of that I should not talk about what I don’t like. On the other hand I think when no one talks about disadvantage, conference can not be better next time. Too big for me In Ruby...
